Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy Hinkson Cox designs?
Thanks for asking! As I work on making my website more e-commerce friendly Hinkson Cox designs can be bought in various product forms on Spoonflower, and Redbubble.
Spoonflower = fabrics, wallpaper, home decor (kitchen, bedroom, living room).
Redbubble = There are stickers, t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, cellphone cases and shower curtains.
How can I use Hinkson Cox designs from Spoonflower?
For the DIY individual you can use Spoonflower fabrics to make your own clothes, tote bags, pillows, quilts. Their fabrics come in different textures too.
Spoonflower has ready-made items if you want to skip the DIY path. Pillow covers (with or without an insert), duvet covers, curtains, kitchen linens, sheet sets and throw blankets.
You can also buy wallpaper. There are some really unique designs on their website, not just my own. Mine range from simple geometric designs, floral bursts, to a little otherworldly, and cool.
With any major project ideas, I do recommend buying samples first.
How can I use your designs from Redbubble?
Redbubble is a more direct marketplace. What you see in my store is what works best for each design. There’s some cool stuff with a nice mix of styles. Home decor with repeating pattern designs, but also artwork that works on different surfaces.
Then, there are handwritten or cool fonts messages. I created some of my own fonts (again, always learning) and use those to create relatable messages in a quirky style.
Please, have a look.
Why are the colours on my purchase different to what I see online?
Colours may differ from monitors to real life, unfortunately. For example, some types of yellow may appear more green on fabric in person than what you see on your screen. Some darker colours may work differently on different fabric surfaces too! I am continuously learning about colour correction. Individual printing companies have their own process so I cannot guarantee perfect results.
Who is Aleatha Cox vs Hinkson Cox?
Well, they are both me. Aleatha Cox, moi, is the artist and creator behind the Hinkson Cox brand. Hinkson Cox refers to my parents (Eudolee Hinkson and Simeon Cox) who were married for over 50 years before their deaths a few years ago. I created Hinkson Cox as a way to keep their connection with me and as an incentive to remain creative and get my creations out there to you, the lovely and curious seekers of unique things.
Is there a way to get items custom-made?
Though I don't offer custom-made designs right now, you can use the fabrics purchased through the Hinkson Cox Spoonflower shop for your own creations. However, if you have ideas or suggestions, please contact me.
